Sprint does not assign toll free numbers however the company can provide voicemail, call waiting, caller id, and call forwarding to phone systems that will work in conjunction with 1-800 numbers assigned by a toll free service provider.

Sprint started in the early 1980s when the telecommunications industry opened up. By 1986 Sprint was the only phone company to offer a 100% digital fiber optic network. Sprint and Centel merged in 1993. Eleven years later, Sprint merged with Nextel.
