Telcan is a Canadian telecommunications company based in Mississauga, Ontario. The company was founded in 1997 by three engineering students from the University of Waterloo. The same founders—Anton Mendoza, Siva Sanmuga, and Mamoon Rashid– presently own and manage Telcan.

The company has over 50,000 clients, 450 agents and 180 service provider clients. It reports that it runs over 85 million minutes per month through its network and operates service outpost facilities in Toronto and New York.

Basic toll free features include one-day number activation, call routing to any phone, pager or fax messages, caller id, online account management. Fees for basic toll free service include a $2 per month per number plus 4.5 cents per minute in the United States and 6.5 cents in Canada. The same charges apply for all four toll free (800, 888, 877 and 866) area codes.

Telcan offers international services, voicemail, and call hunt for additional monthly fees ranging from $4.99 to $9.99. There are no set up fees or contracts however a one-time fee of $14.99 is charged for a vanity number. Virtual PBX packages from Callture through telcan.net range from $9.99 to $34.99 per month plus per minute fees. Telcan relies on Qwest as their underlying carrier.
