Today is a holy holiday within the Catholic church..Ash Wednesday. And it reminds us how many religious organizations nationwide are now connecting with their parishioners through a toll free telephone number. Toll free phone numbers will be in full force tomorrow night as hundreds of celebrities come together for the second Stand Up To Cancer telethon airing simultaneously on a dozen TV stations. Every penny donated goes to cancer research.

On September 20, at 8 p.m. (EST) Support Connection will present “Tune In and Take Charge: Don’t Face It Alone”: a toll free teleconference for women with ovarian cancer. In addition to offering educational information, the event allows women with ovarian cancer to gain support from other survivors, regardless of where they live and at no charge–the phone call is free.
