The resounding success of the 855 toll free phone numbers has unveiled a slew of inquiries about the possibility of the 844 numbers being released soon. The 844 numbers, currently held in reserve, will be released for toll free use when the FCC deems a need within the industry. With toll free numbers so popular, these 844 reserves will likely be released within the next year or so. We will keep you posted.

As the popularity and recognition of the newly released 855 toll free area code numbers grows, we see more and more advertisements and websites including the new 855 number. 855 numbers are quickly being acquired as we wait for more news on the pending 844 toll free phone numbers. Those, too, are needed to ease the burden.

We are interested to see the FCC’s report on the acquisition and activations of the new 855 toll free area codes. We know that the new numbers have been very popular and that demand is high. The FCC will determine how quickly the numbers are activated. At some point after that, the 844 numbers will come into play. The need is high and even with the new 855 numbers, supplies will soon be low again. The 844 back-up numbers will help.

With so much buzz and volume over the new 855 toll free area code phone numbers, there is already talk that the next toll free area code (844 numbers) will be right on 855’s heels. The 844 could be released within the next 12-18 months. By then, the supply will likely be diminished and the need will be there.
