855 Coming Soon?

The rumor mill is really grinding this week with speculation that the release of the new 855 toll free area codes is coming sooner than we expected–maybe even within a few weeks. We are on top of this, investigating, and we will keep our readers posted. As soon as we hear anything definitive, we will let you know.

Stockholders Keep Informed With Toll Free

Corporations are using toll free phone service for more than just sales and customer service. Assisted Living Concepts, Inc. just announced that stockholders and other interested parties unable to attend ALC’s Annual Meeting of Stockholders on Monday, May 3 will have the option to listen to the meeting via a toll free phone call. The toll free number is 1-800-230-1085. A taped rebroadcast of the stockholders meeting will be available approximately three hours following the meeting by dialing toll free 1-800-475-6701.

855 Still In Abeyance

855 toll free phone numbers are still held in abeyance. We hear that the release could be as early as next year but nothing has been confirmed. We do know that the new toll free area codes (855, 844…) would allow millions of new toll free combinations for business owners and for personal users of toll free. The new numbers would allow for creative new custom numbers not currently available. The release of 855 area code phone numbers in 2011 is a good idea for the US economy and we hope the rumors are true. The minute we hear any confirmation we will advise our readers so they can contact toll free service providers to arrange for their new numbers.
