The newest way to use toll free to help veterans begins next month in New England. The Massachusetts Bar Association will sponsor a Veterans Dial-A-Lawyer call-in program on Wednesday, November 17. Veterans who have legal questions toll free 877-686-0711 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to speak to volunteer attorney. The Veterans Dial-A-Lawyer is provided at no charge. Government and private sector use of toll free phone numbers is continuously growing.

In the past, 800 and 888 pre-fixes have been the most popular choices of subscribers. Experts say this was due mostly to the lack of public awareness that 877 and 866 were also toll free. But in recent years, this situation has changed. Reports now indicate that the majority of the public recognizes all four pre-fixes as toll free. Business owners are quickly taking advantage of the 877 numbers.
But now with the overall supply of available toll free numbers dwindling, 877 numbers are going fast.

With 1-800 numbers becoming more and more difficult to obtain, some business owners are finding relief by securing 877 numbers.
Supplies of 800 numbers are decreasing while demand is growing. According to the Federal Communications Commissions, toll free service is a valuable commodity for businesses and popularity is consistently on the rise. The availability of toll free numbers is plummeting yet there are no immediate plans by the FCC to overcome the shortage by launching the reserved 855 numbers

Target has now added a new toll free phone service for customers who have purchased electronics from one of their stores. Target began testing the toll free phone number, 877-myTGTtech this summer. The free service is available to anyone who bought an electronic item at a Target store. This is another way that all types of businesses–from small companies to large corporations–continue to find new ways to use toll free phone service in their marketing and customer service plans.

It is important to remember and to spread the word that the only toll free area codes at this time are 800, 888, 877 and 866. (855 pending) We have seen various advertisements–mostly online-encouraging consumers to call “toll free” and then listing a standard number. The customer does not realize and perhaps does not check the phone bill that comes in weeks later. This is an advertising scam that goes on frequently. Only the above four area codes are toll free for the caller.

Day 83 and the oil is still gushing through the Gulf Of Mexico. Florida State officials are trying to connect with people and information through a toll free telephone number. If oil is sighted on Florida’s coastline report it to the State Warning Point at 1-877-2-SAVE-FL (1-877-272-8335).

The spectator crowd at the Today show today held numerous signs advertising toll free telephone numbers–with all four toll free area codes. Ads for legal services, charitable causes, retail, and so on. Every pan of the camera revealed a new ad with a toll free phone number. We didn’t notice one ad without one in fact. Good way to get free advertising on national television and to incorporate your toll free number.
